Times River Beach Garden is located in the city of Datong, situated between the Yu River on the east and Bin River Park to the west. The overall topography of the site is gently sloping down 12 meters from the west side down to the riverside at the east. The project is an integrated community of a resort hotel facilities, residential components, office parks, commercial zones, and leisure and entertainment areas. The Yu River is the main tributary of Datong, its banks rich with the culture and history of this northern city. The project designer’s task was to create a modern, vibrant district in which to live and work, while maintaining a sense of the city’s culture and long history. The natural setting was honored by creating many opportunities for residents and guests to appreciate the expansive views and by making nature an integral component of the overall master plan by utilizing a “one river – two axis” concept.
