Leisure Style Defined
Leisure design style puts the comfort of the guest first and foremost. It strives to anticipate the guest's every need and exceed their every expectation. Leisure style seeks an innate understanding of each guest. It seeks to create a relationship between the guest, the architecture, and the environment. In a natural environment, leisure style incorporates elements of the indigenous architecture and uses natural materials and local craftsmanship. It becomes a natural extension of its surroundings, allowing nature and the natural site elements to take priority as the feature attraction. Spaces are more open and free-flowing, creating a relaxed and soothing environment. Nature is emphasized through indoor/outdoor relationships, and the design serves to accentuate natural site elements. Leisure design style seeks to create in the guest a greater appreciation of beauty and nature, and ultimately, through these experiences and revelations, it seeks to create an improved quality of life for all those who experience it.
